BFT Flags
#1
I remember a few months back seeing a post about BFT flags with member names on them. I was just starting to dabble in the whole world of the fishing forum, but think it would be cool to have one. Any ideas on the details about how to acquire one of these boat flags?

I usually order them in the Winter for ice fishing but many members use them on their boats as well. That being said, at least a dozen flags must be needed, to place an order. If we can find enough interest to make an order, I should be able to get them but I'm not sure if we can get that many members interested.[:/]

I don't fish as much as I like to nor do I get on this site that often but sure do love this site. So put me down for a flag. If you have a Venmo account, I can send you the money right away if not let me know where to send the money.

Great, we still need 4 more members that want flags before I can place an order but I can let you know if we reach that number. I've never heard of Venmo but I've used PayPal in the past and that works well. If you think you might not be on the site for a while, please send some contact info in a PM and I can either call you or send you an Email if you like.

Do you want your username on them? That will take us up to 10 flags, only need two more to place an order.[cool]

Yes username please. I just successfully destroyed one trying to put grommets in mine.

When I first started getting these flags I made the mistake of telling one member I would put grommets in his, that was a pain in the butt. I had to buy a kit at Harbor Freight and be very careful putting them in the flag. One thing that would make these flags stronger is if you sew them back to back, so they are double thick. The original BFT flags were double flags sewed together but they did not have usernames on them.

I lent my grommet tool set out and the scouts who borrowed it lost the instructions that came with it so this turned out to be a trial and error. Now I know what I am doing.[cool]

I used these Harbor Freight grommets to attach accessories to my siderail mount system in my boat. I found the easiest way to install them is by melting a hole through the material rather than cutting one. This singes the edges and prevents fraying. Might be worth a try on the flags? I just use a cheap soldering iron also from Harbor Freight...
Whats the status? Do we have a dozen takers yet for a flag order?

Put me down for one flag. Is there anyway to change our user name on here? I registered sooooo long ago I wasn't much in to forums then. If not no worries.
