Fishermen/ladies,

Me and the lady are excited to get out of town this weekend. We're staying in a friends cabin in Kamas (thanks god, due to the rain) leaving Saturday day and coming back sometime Monday evening.

We're looking to relax and have some fun. With that being said, where can we go to have some relaxing fishing, with our dog, that won't be too crowded. I'm sure the weather will chase some weekenders away.

What lakes? What to use? i'll have some flied and bubble rigs, a few power baits and some worms. Anything else that you suggest? Certain spinners? Any lakes with a mile or so hike to get to for serenity?

All suggestions are welcome. I love this site and the people and help you all provide are amazing.

May I suggest fishing the river along the highway, I seldom encounter other fishermen and the action is always hot. I either fish with spinners casted up-stream or a worm under a bobber with a small weight to keep it under the current. Find the deeper holes and you will have a blast catching an assortment of different trout, you would also be surprised how big the fish can get.

Any of the lakes along Highway 150 should be good. The weekend numbers should be less now after Labor Day. The elk Hunters will be out in numbers this weekend so i'd wear some orange. You arsenal sounds good but I would add a few Jakes Lure's gold with red spots. They always work well for me up there. Have a great time.

I went to Trial Lake a couple weekends ago, and had luck with worms. I was fishing them on the bottom using a water filled bubble at about 25 yards out.

If I were to take my dog, I would probably hike to Marjorie lake. Its a nice hike, and the fishing reports say fishing is good there.

I was thinking of going up there this weekend if there is a break in the weather; I may see you there!!

Was up there about 5 weeks ago and fished Pass, Teapot and Trial lakes. Trial was the best for us. We fished off the dam using a fly and bubble (mostly small flies like Adams) and did okay. But did real well using a small Crappie tube jig 4ft under a bubble. Throw out and wind in real slow. Couldn't keep'em off. Probably going to run into snow this weekend though.

Looks like I might try Washington and trial lake. Also maybe the river for a minute depending on how cold it gets. Bummer that I planned for this weekend and not the next, given I hate being cold... meh, hope the fishing makes it worth it.

Well you'll probably run into some great fall colors, both on the trees and the fish. I went up 12 days ago and camped in Murdock Basin...it was cold but a tent heater wasn't needed, plus with it being midweek there wasn't a soul up there.
