Henry's Update
#1
Anyone have recent reports on Henry's? I might go up there Thur. or Friday to try out a one-man pontoon a friend is letting me borrow. I used to fly fish with waders on the Teton River, but it has been years, and now all the places we used to access the river are posted. I would like to get back into fly fishing but it seems the wader option is limited now days. Is fly fishing from one of these pontoons worth the effort and investment? Any opinions, tips and advise would be appreciated as would some fresh intel about the fishing at Henry's.

I personally think pontoons are great for lakes and rivers. Just got back from Henry's. Not particularly fast fishing but we got some nice ones. I would fish the state park area. We tried several places and found the best places not far from the state park. Halloween leeches worked best on type three line. I usually use type two but three worked better for some reason.

If access to good wading zones is what you want, a one-man inflatable is a good solo option. If you are just using it to move from wade to wade, there's a lot of options from cheapo to cadillac. If, however, you want to actively drift fish while moving with the current, you need an inflatable specifically designed to be controlled with fins as well as the oars and with oars that fold down out of the way while casting. Big Sky Inflatables makes the Watermaster series for active drift fishing. I have two and think they are great. I don't recommend them for whitewater over class II but they are awesome stealth bombers for mellower water. They aren't cheap.

I gotta echo everything Sorefeet just said (except I prefer North Fork Outdoors over Watermaster [Wink])
It has been a little over a week since I was there but as suggested the State boat launch head towards the sandy shore infront of parking lot. The fish were in close and about 5' of water.
I would be happy to go with you and show you though[cool].

Fishing at Henry's lake was basically dead. My friend caught one and I caught zero.

Only a few bites. Talked to a lot of anglers and most of them caught something or nothing. I saw on my fishing finder that there were tons of small minnows but I couldn't even have the dinkers on my small midges or small worm that I tie my self.

This cold snap sure turn the fishes off big time.

Went up with my son and my father two camp and fish for the weekend. Arrived around 9 am Saturday and fished until just after noon paddling around in float tubes by the state park area. The water was much more murky than usual and there was a bit of algae still floating around out from shore a ways. And not a single bite to be had. I might have had a nibble or two but could've been weeds. After a lunch and nap break we went out again but fished from the shore area where we saw a few people catch fish, including some older die hards including one that had his O2 tank in the water with him. Now that's dedication! We did end up getting a good bite around four and we landed around fifteen fish keeping two. A couple probably went close to four pounds but they were released. Next day was very low clouds and some drizzling rain. We went back to the boat ramp area and quickly started catching a few fish. My dad even switched to a fly rod and with some kind help from a gent in a tube managed to catch a couple fish on a damsel fly. Gave him a couple of my flies for Shoshone lake in exchange for his generosity. In all we landed about 15-20 fish by 12:30 when we left. We did keep a limit of four fish that day. Overall it was a great weekend and fishing wasn't bad at all for us but the concensus was the guys in boats struggled a lot more than we did but a few reported limits.
