One of my very best friends going back to high school recently took up fishing so I planned a trip to Riverpark hoping to get him on some spots. It was a pretty tough day. Flow was supposed to be around 30K but it seemed stronger. The fish size at Riverpark is usually smaller than on the Chick at least for me but usually using downsized baits I can get better numbers. We managed only 15 fish in the boat with 3 of those being jumbo bluegill. We launched from RP right at day light and fished until my trolling motor batteries gave up around 2:30. The bass size were very small even by RP standards emoScratch . We got a lot of hits but they were either very, very small fish or the fish were just hitting the tail of our finesse worms. We started with top water, tried some small spinner baits, and ended up with finesse worms which caught all the fish we boated. We fished shallow rip rap. The water temps were around 67 degrees. I really enjoyed spending time with Mike, he is an awesome man of faith and our fellowship around Christ was a blessing, getting caught up on news, and letting him try some of my rods and reels. He seemed to have a good time in spite of not catching a lot of fish which I think is a sure sign that he is going to make a great fisherman emoParty as he has the patience for it which many don't have emoThumbsup .
