Hit Henry's yesterday near the hatchery. I've usually fished Staleys so I didn't know what to expect. Arrived just before 8 am and set up just west of the open water by about 200 yds and out maybe 100 yds. More centered around the hatchery looked like a tent city. We had a brief flurry of activity around 9 am managing to land three fish and missed two. After that we got a couple nibbles and had three more on and got them to the hole before losing them. Obviously those were the biggest fish we had on. One was on a jaw jacker set up about 50 ft off the shoreline in maybe four ft of water. We had been mostly fishing 7-10 fow. After noon we had zero action. Saw a few on the marcum briefly as they passed through but nothing more than a brief look. Talking to others we probably did the best of anyone. Saw two that caught one each and a group near us got a few bites but none landed. All our fish landed except one were hooked on white paddle bugs. The other was a glow bug dead sticking. Also hooked one on the jaw jacker with a pink rat finky. Weather was pleasant all day with overcast morning scattered clouds midday and flurries in the late afternoon. Almost no wind. Did see some fishing the open hatchery waters but I believe F&G came and talked with them since they all left suddenly after a short meeting with someone in a green coat.
On another note I had a small tragedy and was hoping someone here may be able to help me some. I managed to lose my pocket knife I e had for years and really liked while I was out. If anyone happens to find a black folding knife with a silver clip on it and black coated blade either in the parking lot or on the lake I'd really appreciate a message so I could get it back.
