I fished Lakeside today for 3 hours and landed 9 trout. Light snow all day and 32 degrees. First time this year I didn't have to skim the holes. Because it was so warm the slush started to show, but not too bad. Two of the trout were brookies. Also landed two suckers which ate jigs 1 to 2 feet off the bottom.

I know they have Splake in that lake which is a Brookie/Lake cross. With all the Brookies in the surrounding areas it isn't too big of a surprise to have hit a few. Pretty cool. Any size to the trout?

The trout have been varied in size from 10 to 19 inches. I fished Lakeside again today with three friends and we only iced 3 trout in three hours. Same spot, same time of day, same baits as three days ago but tough fishing. Another week of cold weather and I'll have to put the extension on my auger.

I fished near the dam today for 2 1/2 hours. 12 inches of snow and slush with 3 inches of water on top of the ice. Slow day for me. I had several hits but put zero fish on the ice.

Thank you for the report . I don't see any reason to get up there soon . I haven't been doing any better though . I am going to Twin Lakes near Preston Friday and probably Mckay next Tuesday .
