Strawberry Fri and Sat.
#1
I was thinking about not posting so much
some of you may not like my posts

But went to Strawberry alone Friday and fished by my self
meet some scouts camping. (I don't like fishing on Sat. )
but I told them I would take them fishing Saturday
so I stayed overnight
so we started fishing Sat at 6:30am I had three 12 year old and one of there leaders
that I had never meet.
none of them had ever fished in a boat

we got four lines out before we get are fist bit and I'm teaching them what to do
by the time we get 5 lines out we are catching fish one after another
after about a hour I think they are good enough so we put 6 lines out, one time we had all 6 lines in with fish on.
all I do is drive the boat and put the downriggers down. and that keeps me going.
sense they are new to fishing this way they only land 12 kokanee in the boat
they would say those things are big.
we got over 50 cuts it is hard to count when you are catching them that fast
we got 3 that were 23" we put them back.
on your fish finder you can see the big cuts at 40 and 44 ft so if you want them you can go down and get them.
where we were at we did not see a lot of boats. they would come in then leave
we stopped fishing at 11 am.
I don't think they will forget this day
they told me thanks about 100 times

3 of the dodger I was using was from
true-blue-trolling-tackle
and they were hot.

That was really nice of you to give those scouts a once in a lifetime experience. Way to go!!!

I will up at Strawberry on Tuesday, the 14th. I am taking a neighbor that has never fished on a boat. I hope we can find some fish for them to catch. Let me know if you have any suggestions.

Again, that was some kind service you gave those boys.

Thanks for taking time to take these kids out and introduce them to fishing from a boat I'm sure that is something they will remember for the rest of their lives. Wish we had more people in the world like you. [Smile]

I still remember experiences like this I had as a youngster and likewise, these scouts will never forget.
May the fish force be with you.

you can see them on your fishfinder the bigger ones are 20 to 25' down
with the water warming up that will change day to day.

the best way is to stack downriggers and have your set backs about 10' apart
that way if they miss one lure they will go to the next.

watching my videos some times they leave and go up some times down also they go to the side. I think they go up more. I'm watching that now
so with stacking have the bottom line closer to the boat the top back 10 to 15' more
so they will go up to it.

Thanks. Ya that is pretty much what we have been doing. Haven't been able to convince them to play yet though. Guess l'll just have to go again and try again.

Friday I started fishing where most of the boats were at and a good place last year
I was alone so only had 2 lines out. started fishing at 6:30

I have 3 underwater cameras
had one on one downrigger ball with a 5' line to a silver 5.5 dodger no squid or hook just the dodger down 25' saw a lot of kokes after the dodger
the other 2 downriggers had cameras on and set back of 25' and 35'
one down 22' and 16' saw more kokes on the 22' than the 16 foot, down
most would just look and take of. I had about 10 good hits where they flip off the hook are just bump it real hard. (you can't belive all that you miss).
did not do very good till about 9:30 and had moved about 5 miles away
and keep changing setups till I found what they like.
then Sat. I new where the kokes were and what they liked.
plus I do better when I have 4 lines out for kokes.

What kind of camera's (make, model, attachment accessories, etc.); how are they attached to the DR weights; are they wifi units. And as they say, a picture is worth a thousand words.
