Nice night out on DC
#1
Took to the water last night right around 5pm. started out trolling with downriggers and lead setups for trout. hit the deep water by the damn first and boated 3 nice bows between 15-17 inches in 1st 2 hours or so , then the action died off - gave it another hour with no luck whatsoever. packed up the trolling gear and pulled out some light spinning rods for bass. nailed over a dozen "small"ies in the last hour of daylight on cranks, jerkbaits, and various soft plastics. (kept switching it up looking for what they wanted) - even nailed another rainbow on a jerkbait right off the shoreline .

beautiful night with a slight breeze to keep it somewhat cooler.

full(ish) moon looked awesome from the water

couple fresh rainbows await for dinner tonight

Nice. Were they those 10-12 inch smallies or smaller? Still fun on light tackle but I wish we could thin those suckers out. Did you happen to notice if they were still letting water out of DC? Yesterday when I drove past the dam the water was coming out of there wide open.

the bass we caught last night were small even for DC. i couldn't help but laugh at my buddy when he reeled in a 5inch fish on a 3inch crankbait . aggressive little fella! didnt catch a single bass over 9"

sorry i didn't notice if they were letting water out or not.

Dang! I've caught bluegill over 9 inches before. Sheesh. Those suckers are aggressive. I've caught em on crankbaits as big as they are. You gotta wonder what they were thinkin...
