Was in the area so decided to check it out. Not a soul around. There is a boat launch but not the greatest. My 16' was doable. Water is 19' deep at most and pretty warm. I'd say mid 60s. Pretty stained as well. Caught one cutt jigging deep. Lots of weeds around the edges. Give it a few months and it might be better. Drove by Long Park. A much bigger lake but also no one fishing.

Few folks fish those lakes in the summer, were you there during the week or a weekend? During the Fall, they receive move attention because people are there hunting. Thats when I use to fish those lakes. Long park was always good but Sheep creek was poor, mainly because of all the weeds. Did you try Brownie Res or Spirit lake?

Did not make it to spirit. I was thinking one more year until the fish are decent there. Is there a boat launch there?

there are several spots on that lake that are much, much deeper and hold some decent sized cutts. once hunting season picks up you will see many more people up there

I don't see how the lake can be deeper than the dam is tall?

Because the dam is merely to enhance the depth of the natural lake basin.

Then why, may I ask, is it called Sheep Creek "Lake" instead of Sheep Creek "Reservoir"?
