CUWCD Water Level Data
#1
Most of you are probably aware of the Central Utah Water Conservancy District's website. It has pages that show reservoir levels and stream flows for bodies of water in this particular district. The data seems to be updated frequently but for some bodies of water, (Utah Lake in particular) the numbers seem to fluctuate dramatically day to day.

For example:

Click on the Graph Trend button for Utah Lake. I'm fairly certain Utah Lake was not 52% full on December 1st. Does anyone have any info on how/where this data is gathered? I'm going to try calling CUWCD on my day off to see if I can find out more but I thought I would try here first.

I know the wind plays a big factor in their readings. A sustained wind from the west will increase the water elevation on the east side.

Is that the side water levels are taken from? I can see wind playing a part but going from 30-52% in one day still seems like too much variance.

I to have noticed the fluxuation of the graph, don't look at it, I gave up on it a long time ago, I just note to percent full and level below comp, it started at just over 30% at the end of September, over 7 ft low, I only need one and half more feet by the first of march or ice off which ever happens first. finger crossed.
If you look at the lower Provo river inflow has stayed about 80 cfm and most of what is coming out of DC is making it to UL, I noticed the let some out of jordy to bring up DC,

Yes I have noticed that. I'm praying man. The current forecast for snowfall (at least the last one I saw) was for above average snowfall. I'm hoping that works out!
