Heading to CJ-Cottonwood
#1
Got a little time this morning so thought I would make the drive and see if I can land a fish or two. If my camera works I will try to post some pictures.

White Cherokee with tool rack and Cargo carrier.

Heading to C.J. from the Burley area on Monday.
Does anybody have current conditions or fishing reports for CJ?
Lake Walcott has a solid 5-/2"-6" of ice, fishing is slow at best.

Ice is okay, fishing was a little slow on Friday. Went down late yesterday afternoon and got stuck in snow drifts trying to access Cottonwood launch area. Dug truck out and tried the road into the narrows but more of the same. Drifts didn't look quite as bad but I didn't push it because I didn't feel like digging anymore. Going to wait until I get word that it has been plowed again.

Yes I am interested but have also read that some are getting to the water by way of the Narrows road and I was thinking of looking at the Jacks creek road. Any info would be helpful for Saturday.

Had a great time! Seemed best at thirty feet jigging rap tipped with bait. I even witnessed two very nice smallies caught and a few crappie. Need to figure out how to have the flasher on my lorwance be more sensitive.

Looks like a nice haul Michael, sorry can't help you with your sensitivity issue but you might be able to find out how to adjust it on the lowrance web site. Do you still have the owners manual for that unit?

Looks like a great day for you Michael!

Not a fan of hard water myself but you seemed to do better than I did this last summer there.

Have a great 2017! Maybe we can get together this year at CJ or Cascade!

Yes! Either would be fine with me but Cj would be the easiest.

Yes I still have the manual but not on the ice. So since it's portable I brought it in the house, put the transducer in water and turned it on and went through the steps again. I will just need to spend some time on the sensitivity while on the ice. Not very clear on the sensitivity and color line relationship yet.

What model do you have, I'm sure it would be easy to look up to figure it out? There are even some good YouTube video on it depending on your model. A lot of it is just figuring out where to set the gain.

Yes it was slow in the morning . Left at noon with 5 and missed at least twice that many with their pecking at my bait! Still a great day but still struggling with keeping my feet warm, rats. Sorry I missed you. Might be trying greys landing at sfcr sat morning for trout and maybe an a careless walleye. I have a wedding at 2 to go to in the afternoon.
