Causey

Fishing was as cold as the air Saturday. Got there around 5:15AM and temp was -20. Morning started by busting through the edge up to my knee, followed by 6" of snow with a crusty layer of ice that gave way to a good amount of slush with every step, next followed breaking the fiberglass pole on my Eskimo Quickfish tent, followed by breaking a rod tip on my pole. Next came the interesting part...left the propane bottles outside overnight (bad idea), guess there was a small leak of gas after I screwed the bottle on, hit the pilot light and flames started shooting in all directions from the heater. Had to bury the heater with a mountain of snow to get the flames under control before she blew. All in all quite the adventurous morning. Only managed 4 fish but did get a good looking 18" rainbow and tiger, unfortunately had to keep the 2 due to swallowed hooks and blood pouring from the gills

If it wasn't for bad luck you would have no luck at all.[Wink]

Are you related to Kent[Wink], he seems to have those some issues too, lol, but where would we get any excitement in our lives, if it weren't for some occasional miSadventures. I'm not sure about others that fish Causey but this is the first year in quite a while where we were catching some nice trout there as well. From you pic it looks like the lake water level has really starting to come up since I was there, likely why the edges are soft. Nice Tiger, bigger than the one we caught, glad to see they are finally getting some size to them. Ira had the same thing happen with his heater last week at PV when it was so cold. No luck with the kokes? Did any come through?
