I fished south of the boat ramp a ways and caught the usual 6-8" perch. They seem to be getting more picky but had good action with perch eyes, some tipped with spikes, and then tried some wax worms with similar success. Every time I mixed it up I got more action.
Edges were soft when we got there and even softer when we left. It was 48* when we left at 2:00. About a foot of water on the edges and it was soft 5' out. Definitely needed a plank to avoid getting wet. Ice was good once you got away from the edge. I'd imagine it's not going to last long with the forecast for this week. Looked like the edges were better the closer to the dam you were. There was a couple inches of soft snow on top of the ice and not much slush. Looked like snowmobiles were cruising around fine all day.
Drove by Rockport on the way home and it looked similar from the road. I saw a snowmobile drive off the ice with no issues a little south of the dam. Ice was looking very sketchy on the edges towards the south end. Lots of people out down there. I heard people were getting wet up to their waists getting off certain areas at Rockport.
Stay safe and stay dry out there!
