Las Vegas September 2017
#1
Hi,
coming to Vegas this year. Have seen 3 park lakes in Vegas. Am staying at Excalibor hotel so hopefully not to far away.

Normally float fish with worm being choice of bait. Want to get a days fishing in whilst I am there, just to say i'ved fished in the USA.
Rather than bringing fishing gear with me can it be hired for the day at the parks. What licences would I need.
Is it safe to fish on your own.
What can I expect to catch.

I shall be going to the Pro Bass shop there as we have nothing like that in UK, and I have been told well worth the trip, no doubt will end up buying stuff to bring home.
Thanks for any info.

Hey, you need a fishing license, you can get one at basspro or ndow.org. If you go to one of the city ponds, there will be bass and catfish that time of year. Neither of which are that easy to catch due to the pressure. Sunset park is closest. Floyd Lamb is the nicest, but it's far. Lorenzi park should be avoided, bad area. You can't rent gear for any of them.

Your best bet would be to pay a guide and go to Lake Mead (around 30 or so min away). They provide all the gear and will take you on a boat and guarantee you'll hit fish. Stripped bass will be boiling at that time of year. It's totally worth the money. On a good day, you can catch over a dozen per hour.

As you can tell from this pic.....the fish are small at Lake Mead.
