Willard 5th and 6th trips 2017
#1
Been reading the WB reports from this weekend, and it seems to be kind of a mix of so-so catching, and no catching. So I can make my 2 day report pretty short, but not real sweet. Got out from the south marina Friday morning at 10:30 ish, took home Skunk #5.

Got out from south marina today about 7:30 ish with the wife, and we both got skunked. Had to put her ashore at 1130 so she could go to work. Day was nicer than it has been so far, but I was working on skunk #6 so thought I would drag the boat up to the north marina and try there. Well, that just completed the #6.

Did learn something new this morning. That nice new parking lot out near the inlet baffles ain't free anymore, or I just noticed the sign for the first time this morning. So I paid the $5.00 for the wife to park her vehicle there in order not to pay the $10 in the south marina. While we were doing that bit of business this morning, I was trying out my new camera by getting a shot of the baffles. Still need to figure out the stability feature, cuz I'm gettin old and hands are not as steady as they once was.
So no "fish porn" here. But a few shots of other non important things.

Oh yea, just noticed my date stamp in the new camera was a day behind. But I know how to fix that, I think....[mad]

Its been a tough year so far, hope that changes soon. I bought a camera just like your new one but I quite using it and went back to my old one because of that same issue, pics always came out blurry.
Wiperslayer were out there as well on Fri and did a little better than you but it was tough conditions.

Yeah I also noticed they put up the no parking signs along the road by the inlet channel. I talked to a ranger at the parking lot checking vehicles. I asked if the state parks pass works and he said it did. He said the fee is for the restrooms/maintenance. I just broke down this year and bought the parks pass. They start charging $15 to enter the marinas on the weekend in the summertime. Might as well do the pass at that point if you want to go more than 3-4 times a year.

Yep, I think we got plenty of water this year. Sure would like some warm weather and warmer water.

All of the pics I took with the new camera came out really nice, except the one of the baffles Sunday morning. I was in the parking lot across the road, standing on my boat trailer frame, and was a bit shaky. But the ones I took Friday out in Freeway Bay came out nice and sharp.
Just a learning curve for me I guess.

We have used that lot the last year or so. When the wife wants to fish with me but has to leave in time to be at work by 1 PM, she drives her truck and we meet at that lot. Then I just take her back to her truck, and go back to fishing. I liked the new vault toilets there, and putting in that lot was a nice addition, but I should have known it wouldn't stay "free" for long. Was just surprised to see the new pay sign yesterday. I have a season park pass, have had for about 10 years or more. Since I hit WB almost every weekend during the season, and a few trips to Hyrum and Utah Lake, that pass is more than worth it.

wow I can't believe you can park over a mob of fish like that and not even snag one. Keep it up Larry the rewards will come.
