Muskrat, Chickamauga, crappie / mix, 04/22/17, solo
#1
A solo crappie fishing trip today. Hardly a soul out on the lake for a Saturday and like night and day compared to last Saturday. Only one boat in Paradise Cove -- what ? Usually 30-40. A lot of the crappie I caught were deep and tight to the bottom. The crappie have really made a quick exit from the shallows this year. I caught two "tiny" crappie which I think was the highlight of my trip. I caught 7 species again in total including a warmouth. It seems like I get one a trip. They will go back into hiding soon. Berkley Gulp Smelt and Watermelon Pearl 2.5" on a StandOut hook "drop shot" rig has been catching fish lately. I gave my next door neighbor all of my crappie as my elbow was hurting to much to clean them. Sad
