After years of trying to set up on a double anchor (1 forward and 1 aft) we learned a new setup.
This is great when deploying a good chum pile.
First, set your anchor, next tie your drift sock in a short rope...3 feet.
Tie the rope and drift sock as far back towards the stern. Let the drift sock deploy in the water.
On windy or breezy times on the water you won't swing as much off your chum. You will see other boats swing with the wind, maybe even a full rotation around the anchor spot.....not so with an anchor and a drift sock.
