Donkey Reservoir - Boulder Mountain
#1
Donkey Reservoir is now accessible. A buddy and me blazed a trail through the snow in his side-by-side on Friday (5/5). Trail is VERY rocky; 4x4 is a must.

Ice is about 20-30 yds from shore. Brooks were hitting on anything with a silver blade; from 1/8 to 1/2 oz. Smaller ones hit rainbow garlic power bait. No hits on worm.

Broke the tie-rod on the way down and lost my phone. Will update with pics at a later date.

I've been there years ago, what a beautiful lake! It was crystal clear water then and a hoot to kick my tube over brookies suspended next to boulders on the bottom.

Saw this on FB, pretty jealous! Miss living close to down there. Tried hitting some of those lakes at ice off the last two years and either hit them a little too early or was a couple weeks late due to work.

Good to know! Not that I would go to Donkey, but it gives helpful info on the elevation. Thanks!
