Willard Sunday
#1
Fished Willard this morning with varied success. This was the first time I have fished Willard Bay after Memorial Day and didn't know what to expect. The weather this morning was perfect if you don't mind clouds of little flying critters. I launched out of the north marina and trolled south marking a lot of fish but no takers. Trolled north in deeper water and still no success. Decided to try the north east corner which is a little shallower and fish on at 14'. Went back to deeper water and nothing. Turned around and came back to 14' another hook up but lost it.
This was pretty much the pattern until I had enough of the over grown kids on their PWC's. I did catch my largest of the day while fantasizing about doing cruel and unusual and probably illegal acts to a jet ski.
Flicker shad fished slow in deep to shallow water was the ticket for me today. For whatever reason I seem to have more success going up hill rather than down.

So, what kind of fish were you after? Were people fishing for crappie?

Sorry about that, I should have mentioned I was fishing for wipers.
