A bit late but better late than never. Last Monday took my son and buddy out floating the snake from Walcott res down. Had planned to hike into Shoshone lake but the back country report of 18-20" of snow, a high of 65° and the three campgrounds near our fishing spot being closed due to bear activity steered us away from that idea. Anyway got on the water about 9:00 am. Floated down taking our time. Worked over a lot of back eddies and structural retaining walls. Figure we caught about 30 bass for the day and lost several. Also almost landed a big carp but it broke my son off when it made a surprise run directly under the boat. Pulled out about 8 pm and made it home by 10.
