On July 1st drove all the way to Evanston and back. Beautifully and green with no snow. Three weeks ago made the same trip, it snowed 2" the night before and there was several feet of snow on the road going down to Mirror Lake parking lot, so it was closed. It was 29 degrees at 1pm and Mirror Lake and most of the smaller high lakes around there were covered in weak ice except for small portions. What a difference a few weeks of warm weather make.

Unfortunately for those looking to camp, the camp grounds at Mirror Lake and Mousehorn were still closed. I imagine it will be at least a couple weeks til they are open as they normally have to go in and cut down all trees within the campgrounds that look to be in danger of falling. That kept the campgrounds from being opened last year as well on the 4th. At least last time they had the camp hosts setup and ready to go. This time Mousehorn lake did not even have the camp host in place with their trailer. The deeper snow this year seems to have pushed things back.

There were a large amount of people hiking the trails and on the lakes and shore fishing as the temps are in the 70s in the afternoon now.
