Strawberry Shore Fishing
#1
First time posting on BFT! I hope someone out there can lend a hand.

I'm going camping this weekend at Aspen Grove at Strawberry with some family. We are looking to get some fishing in, but I've never had much luck when fishing Strawberry, which seems to be an outlier. We won't have boat access, so we will be on the shore. Is it worth a try fishing from the shore this time of year? Or will it not really be worth it? Also, what is working by way of baits/lures/etc.? Any tips or pointers would be greatly appreciated!

Lots of folks fish the peninsula that is off (west side of) the dam - easy access and the water gets deep fast - power bait & minnows seem to be the recommended table fare.

Fish early in the morning as it starts to get light and later in the evening as it starts to get dark with a fly and bubble. Double Renegade worked for us a lot. Try woolly buggers or streamer flies, too.

Look for the fish surfacing early early in the morning and later in the evening. Fly and bubble fishing can be great fun.
