Bass fishing from 1:00 - 4:30 pm today. Water temperature 85-87. I was crankin' this afternoon looking for some big bass hiding out in the grass. I was in the thick stuff and lost a 6-7 pounder thinking that it was just another big "clump" of grass around 2:30. I was really kickin' myself for not paying more attention. I sharpened my hooks and toward the end of my trip caught another nice one. I hooked it good this time but it wrapped me around a log or brush-pile. I kept working with it by circling the boat around it and the fish worked free and I got this one in the boat. Yes ! I had to leave shortly after that so it felt good to make up for the one I lost. It was a nice one but not quite as large. Both fish were hooked on a Strike King 5XD -- Sexy Shad.
