<br /> Got on the water to pre-fish for CFF #11 for a few hours. Started out catching 6 fish in the jumps, with two over 3 and two more over 2 pounds each from two different schools. Once the topwater bite had all but died, we moved back to some shallow grass. Throwing a Sammy on the first cast had the loudest blow up I have ever heard without hooking a fish. Started to yell "Choot Em, Choot Em", like on Swamp People but figured the people in the slough would not like it too much. One reason the large fish did not hook was possibly due to the fact I had cut two of the barbs off the rear treble on the first fish I caught as it was hooked in a bad way with all three barbs and we were trying to get back to fishing. Oh well...Had it been a tournament I would have changed baits completely. Continued to work around and as it got dark found the key being the presence of light around deeper docks. At one point, caught three on three casts, and at another time, caught six on six casts including one over four and all five over three pounds. Figured I had lucked upon a large school staging out in deeper water, possibly the same school I had caught the larger fish from earlier. Ended up finishing up around 11:15 when we had planned on leaving the water at 10pm. Anyway, best three would have topped 11 pounds or so on a total of 20 boated fish. Fish caught on jigs, topwater, and magnum trick worm.
