Northern pike at Utah Lake
#1
I caught one that was 28-30 inches last night while fishing for trout in the river. Not wanting to snap the 4lb leader I was using, I took my time. Longest battle with a fish I've ever had in my life Being the occasional clumsy person I am, I dropped it as I was introducing it to my knife. He bled, I bled, and we both went our separate ways after I yelled some bad words.

Does the DWR still want these turned in, or just killed? I seem to remember something about turning them in, but wasnt sure if that was the case. Might be nice to know if I run into them again.

[#0000FF]Here is a copy and paste from a DWR website piece from last year...with details.

There have been some changes in DWR staffing since then and I am not sure about current procedures. If you catch one, record the info requested and call to verify what to do from there.
