Windy deer creek report

Tried to fish deer creek this morning in my tube. Guess I should have checked the weather first. Started out breezy, and got blown off about 1 1/2 hours later. Marked quite a few fish on the south side of the island in 15-20 fow, but most didn’t want to play. The only 2 bites I got turned out to be nice fish though, a 19” rainbow on a plastic swim bait, and a 16” small mouth dragging a night crawler.

I was there this morning in my tube as well, except in the Walsburg arm. No love from the fish, but at least the wind wasnt too bad there. I have marked many fishes on that south side of the island, but they are picky. Maybe the turnover has them in a funk. I will give it a go wed thru fri mornings at various locations next week. Its gotta start getting good soon.
