Starvation - Quanity not quality
#1
A friend and I fished Starvation today from 10:30 until 3:00 in our tubes. We launched at the boat ramp and fished over toward the dam. We didn't get into any fish until we got over by the dam. We caught all rainbows with most of them being some of the recently stocked fish between 10" - 12" long. We did manage two 19 inchers that were between two and three pounds. This was one of those times when you could do well with a pellet fly pattern.[Wink]

We used both medium and fast sinking lines but the fast sinker worked the best. We used size 4-10 flies in various patterns and like I said these fish would hit about anything that looked eatable.

The reservoir level is at 89% full and rising. The water temperature was 37-39 degrees and the visibility of about 9' - 10' in the water.

It was a nice day to be on the water, 40's and no wind. There was no ice in site so we still have some more time to hit the soft water up there.[Smile]

Happy Holidays everyone and thanks to all of those that have shared valuable fishing information during the year!
