I haven't heard anything about FG in a while. It would be nice if someone could tell us what's what up there. I'm anxiously awaiting ice at Lost Dog and points south.

I have heard that Firehole is fishable. Just be careful, if you venture out.

Doesn't look too good for quality ice formation moving south in the near future. No overnight lows in single digits for at least a while. We need a week with solid sub zero lows, but at this rate we could have open water at Buckboard all winter.

I know some people are fishing firehole, but I have no idea of the thickness or quality of ice. I would drill test holes going out.

Ice is down to just above the Confluence, or was up to yesterday. Ice at Firehole has been 5-6 inches, but variable depending on where you drill. It’s much thinner below there down the Green River Arm. We had another poor day for ice production yesterday with temps near 40F and winds gusting to 30mph. As stated, we need a few days of calm and below freezing temps to make any type of change. Based on the forecast, it’s at least a week out.

Hope it helps, Ryno
