Made a trip up to Pineview and arrived early with the hopes of getting a few crappie before daylight. Didn't happen, the water column was covered with fish but couldn't buy a bite from crappie. I drilled a lot of holes and all had fish but they wouldn't bite.
Took them about to 2 hours to convince me that they were not gonna play. I moved to 30' of water and started catching perch. As others have said there were a few decent perch close to 10" and a lot of 4 inchers. Kept enough for a couple dinners. The ice was smooth and slick had to put on my cleats to keep the power auger from square dancing with me. Lots of cracks and 4" of good clear hard ice.
