What's up with the ice today?

Was on the ice yesterday and it seemed fine, the thickest I've seen all year. Out doing chores tonight and noticed slush on the pond so went out to see what was up and the hole I punched yesterday had melted and eroded so much ice around it, it was like three inches of ice off top had melted away. Hope the lakes aren't deteriorating that much. Be careful. Later J

Pineview at port was a solid 6” with an inch of gunge ice on top, I’m sure from yesterday’s storm. No sign of deterioration. Old holes were just frozen with skim.
