Went out to hyrum with the wife and kids to do a little trolling yesterday after work. We had the glassy lake all to ourselves. The fishing could have been better. We were using small Rapalas at different depths but only managed one small rainbow on a fire tiger colored one. There were a few small sheets of slush/ ice, but otherwise the lake was all clear. It was a beautiful evening to be out on the water.

I was out there about a week ago and couldn't get much to happen either. Some guys were wading out into that cove on the south west corner and if they were catching they were keeping it quiet. Did you see any fish surfacing in the evening?

After sun set I saw one fish rise while we were headed in.

Don't let my lack of success slow you, haha. An interesting side note though, the stomach of the fish we kept was full off small green insect looking larva and a few midge looking bugs.

Sometimes I need an excuse to keep me from fishing too much so I can save a little time for when they get good and active later on... J
