Went up for a few hours Saturday morning with my boy and a neighbor and his boy. Fished the soldier creek side in about 12 fow. Bows didn’t want jigs so we experimented and found treble hooks with salmon eggs did the trick. We could see them come in and attack the bait. Lots of fun. Weird combo. I just bought the eggs the night before as an afterthought. A lesson learned. Never assume you know what’s best for the fish. Be ready to adapt or go home empty.

Me and my son fished Chicken Creek East saturday morning in 22FOW.

We managed 3 18" cuts, and 2 others that broke off right at the base of the hole.

A sinker and worm sitting on the bottom worked best for us.

Ice was 18" below 6-7" of snow/slushy ice

The fish were all over the column. From the bottom to the top. Most were caught about half way down but there were many on the bottom and clear at the top. One cutt was caught about 2’ below the ice. We just moved the lines up or down when we saw them come in. Didn’t need the fish finder. Good thing too because it wasn’t working for some reason.
