LAKE MEAD: Fishing is slow with little angler pressure. A few largemouth are showing in some of the arms, but this bite is tough. For more information, call Blue Lake Tackle at (702) 452-8299.
WILLOW BEACH: Trout are being stocked each Friday and anglers are cashing in on Power Bait or Kastmasters. A 20-8 striper was landed by John Wood, Nevada, on a trout swimbait by Mile Marker 43. Many anglers are catching and releasing stripers from 15-0 to 20-0 without weighing them in. A 50-0 striper was found dead under the boat dock with a 6-0 carp stuck in its throat. LAKE MOHAVE: Small stripers are showing on cut anchovies or sardines. There was a trout plant last Friday, with stripers to 16-0 showing for anglers fishing trout swimbaits. For more information, call Cottonwood Cove at (702) 297-1464
BELOW DAVIS DAM: No report.
NEEDLES: Slow to fair largemouth bass fishing in backwaters and around docks. For more information, call Premier Sports at (760) 326-2727 or Golden Shores at (760) 768-2325.
TOPOCK MARSH: Fishing is slow to fair on bass and catfish in the marsh and the main river. For information, call Five Mile Landing (928) 768-2350.
HAVASU: Some stripers showing off the south side of the lake for trollers. A few bass being landed on plastics. For more information, call Black Meadow Landing at (760) 663-3811.
PARKER STRIP: Catfish are slow to fair on cut baits or stink baits. For information, call Big Bend Marina at (760) 663-3755.
BLYTHE: Fair bass fishing on the backwaters or in the river with live shiners. A few flathead catfish from 15-0 to 20-0 are being landed by locals on goldfish or bluegill. B&B Bait has live shiners and goldfish for sale. A few channel catfish showing for the few anglers that have been out. No big flatheads, yet. For information, call B&B Bait at (760) 921-2248.
PALO VERDE. Catfish and bass action is fair in the main river and local backwaters. The odd nice flathead catfish continues to show for anglers fishing live goldfish or tilapia.
PICACHO AREA: Fair bass action in all of the area backwaters and lakes, mostly on live shiners. Catfish slow, but still a fair bite on channels and the odd flathead.
MARTINEZ LAKE AREA: Fair bass action on live shiners in deeper holes in the river and in backwaters. Michael McBride, Martinez Lake, landed three bass from 3-0 to 5-8 using crank baits. A few flatheads to 10-0 continue to be caught from the river, but overall catfish are fair at best. Bluegill fishing is good on sunny afternoons if you can find a school of fish. YUMA AREA: Bass fishing is fair in the main river and backwater mouths. Shiners or plastics are the best baits. Channel catfish are fair on mackerel or other stink baits, and the flathead bite is slow. For more information, contact Mesa Sport Shop at (928) 782-5313.
