Big Sand Wash perch

I’m thinking about spending Tuesday afternoon/evening fishing for perch out of my kayak at Big Sand Wash before spending the day Wednesday at Starvation. I was hoping someone could recommend a setup for perch! Thinking maybe a jig head with a bit of night crawler! Thanks in advance for any advice!!

I fished it two weeks ago and we caught lots of 8 to 9 inch perch just off the dam west of the boat ramp. We used small jigs (1/16 oz.) tipped with a piece of nightcrawler or a strip of perch or an eyeball. They were hanging around the small buildings that are on the dam west of the hump in the dam. 12 to 16 feet of water was the best depth.
