Decided I hadnt been fishing for too long. Today was forcasted to be calm, wasnt a weekend or a holiday so I decided to see if some catfish would come home for dinner. Early I fished jigs off the rocks and the aggressive males came out to fight. Caught the first 6 cats that way. It slowed a bit so I threw out a bait (White Bass) and they continued to give me a few tugs. Caught 12 all together and kept a limit. Nothing was huge they ran between 20" and 24" but since dinner was the goal they were just the right size.

Felt like I was overdue. Love catching cats when they take jigs like that.

[#0000FF]Yeah, the daddy cats get even more aggressive during and right after the spawn...and they really do hit lures well. I have had days when I caught more and bigger cats on the small jigs I was throwing on my light rod...for white bass...than I did on the big chunks of bait I was dragging for cats.
