Strawberry 6/8 (and water temps)
#1
Went to Strawberry today for some kokanee. It looks like the thermocline is developing nicely, with the sweet spot right around 30-35 ft. We caught several kokanee in that range, and some cutts all over the range. We couldn't find a consistent color preference, but had reasonable success on the usual pink, an occasional green or silver dodgers. Beautiful day to be outside.

As of mid day, the water temps according to my Fish Hawk:

0 ft: 58.9
5 ft: 58.4
10 ft: 58.0
20 ft: 57.8
25 ft: 57.6
30 ft: 53.5
35 ft: 51.1
40 ft: 47.3
45 ft: 45.0
50 ft: 43.9
55 ft: 43.6
60 ft: 43.2
65 ft: 42.5
70 ft: 42.4

I was there on Thursday and could not keep the stupid cutts off my rigs. Caught a few Kokes but it was a bit slow for me. I was marking what appeared to be pretty big fish all the way on the bottom at over 70 ft. Anybody have a guess as to whether these were really fish and what kind? I thought there was not enough oxygen that deep at Strawberry for fish to survive.
