Made it over to Powell several days last week and stayed at Wahweap marina on a house boat. Had fun taking some extended family fishing that doesnt get to fish much - its almost more fun watching them reel in big stripers than catching them myself anymore. One of the boys had never been fishing from a boat before.
Trolling was ok, but I had better luck locating a school and dropping anchovies. The fish I caught doing this were all in the 3 - 6 lbs range. I also landed some cats and of course had to spend some time small mouth bass fishing. Lots of dinks, but a few nice ones.
I was able to find quite a few slurps in the main channel but the size of fish was smaller.
Taught them how to fillet fish and we had fish tacos right there on
