Fishes of Utah Lake
#1
Today I read a paper on the fishes of Utah Lake authored by, among others, Charles W. Thompson of the Springville DWR fisheries. (If you never met Charlie you missed knowing a great man, dedicated to the fish and fishermen of Utah.) The paper was published by BYU in 1981 and contains much interesting historical information from the pioneer days (how appropriate today) forward. Things have changed since 1981 but much is still relevant. I thought some of you might be interested.

The older I get the more I would rather be considered a good man than a good fisherman.

Good stuff, too, that I hadn't seen before. I found another study specifically on Utah Lake channel catfish, circa 1960.

I was just going back through some old posts and noticed this. My past-tense reference was due to the fact that he had retired, as far as I know. If you know otherwise, please let me know[Smile].
