It was HOT! Not the fishing.

We mainly chase striper boils when down there this time of year and like last year they were slurps not boils.

We had a hard time finding any fish and took two days to find a good concentration to actually fish. We searched from Good Hope all the way down to Slick Rock with the best fishing on our way down to Slick Rock. They weren't that thick and spent allot of time waiting for them to come up and hope we were close enough to chase them down. Unlike boils you would have to motor super slow and try to cut them off, if you ran the motor above idle they would instantly go down. Frustrating at times with fish on top just out of casting range.

I did catch one Walleye while we were trolling Moki at 30 feet.

Hopefully Oct will be better catching.

Thanks for the report and pics Tony, seems like Summer is the slow time at Powell at least for the good action. You heading back down there in Oct?
