Caught my first perch.
#1
Went to Rockport on 2/14 from 10-1 with the intent on catching my first perch. Found an orphan hole and caught a small rainbow (to my disappointment) to start out with. He hit right before I pulled the jig out of the whole. I then caught 8 perch in 20-40 feet of water. I caught a nice 16 inch rainbow about 20 ft down with an immitation castmaster tipped with waxworms. (this was trailed with an icefly which caught all but one other perch.)

Congrats on your first perch! They are very tasty, but a pain to fillet. I'd say ther are one of the best eating fish around. Jordanelle is full of the little ones, and we need to take as many home as possible.

I tried frying in batter and baking and found them to be best baked.
