West Nile Virus in Box Elder County
#1
Article:

I have a bug suit, but perfer to wear less since it's hot when there are mosquitos. I really don't want to put poisons on my skin. I've tried some essential oils, but their effectiveness is marginal and wears off quickly. Any ideas?

I have an older model that is lighter and more breathable. Never tried it.

I saw the news reported the virus in Box Elder last week. An old favorite repellant is the Avon product Skin So Soft. I used it for years and mosquitos didn't bother me. It is a bath oil better than spraying OFF Repellant on the skin. Besides you can smell good too. [bobWink]

I'm afraid I'll end up getting the dang virus, cause I can't stand repellant either and won't wear long sleeve jackets like I ought to. It's pretty serious this year, had a neighbor lose a horse to it last week and the Cache county trap that had one in it is a little over a block from my house, so I hope I don't die from it, but I have a good chance to get it... Well let's hope for winter so the skeeters die off soon... Later J

I wear long sleeves and spray repellent on my hat, collar, and cuffs, but I rarely spray any on my skin unless it is one of our natural repellents.

Sounds like a good idea if the bugs aren't too thick... Seems like sometimes they are so bad that you have to spray it on your skin and I hate the way it makes my fingers tingle, ya just know it's not good for you.... So which is worse west nile or cancer???? or whatever that stuff causes down the road... can't be good for you... If some of those natural ones work, I'd like to know what they are so I could try them, but knowing the skeeters in farm country it will have to be pretty good stuff to work there... Later J
