Big Cottonwood Creek
#1
Hit Big Cottonwood canyon last week for some dry fly action. I was on call for work so I only had a few hours to get out. I was throwing size 18 parachute purple haze and got into a few brownies!

Here is a video I made!

That’s a fun spot when you’ve only got a couple hours. I used to do well in the lower section of the canyon for small brownies using a dry dropper such as an elk hair caddis/pt nymph and would fish the pocket water. Those browns are usually willing to bite as long as you don’t spook them before hand (which can be a challenge🙂Wink

Like you said in the vid, we all love to search out and catch big fish...but there is something about dry flying small waters. Reminds me of being a kid and the small waters I learned the craft on. Thanks for sharing!
