Update on Long range Old Bull
#1
Interesting update on my long range old Wyoming bull. As I was butchering up the meat yesterday I found the 5 1/2 inches of arrow shaft pictured in one of the shoulders. I believe it had been in there many years as there was no metal left, ie; broadhead and insert, just the carbon fiber shaft. I've heard stories of people finding broadheads and arrow shafts before but never seen it myself until now. Just one more bit of character for this old boy. Now I'm trying to figure out how to incorporate this arrow shaft into the euro mount I did of him.

I have killed several young bulls in Utah during the rifle hunt that had a broadhead in them, both were hit in a front shoulder. One had been in the animal for a year or so and the other was new from most likely the bow hunt that season. They had maybe an inch or two of the shaft left. They didn't seem to be bothering the animals at all.
