I have never tried Cutler but would also be interested. You may consider Mantua too.

I do fish Cutler through the ice, but it’s a tough nut to crack. After many failed attempts I finally got into a few fish last year. None were very big except for the carp but it can be done, but it’s like Willard so don’t expect big numbers and be ready to invest some time. Newton will be a better catch rate and probably not as dangerous. Cutler is shallow with currents and the combo makes varying thicknesses of ice and if you fall through the current can suck you under the ice sheet. So be very careful and check thickness very often. Check with me and I could take you out and show you where to watch out for currents and thin ice. It freezes early but some areas never do get good. If we get a cold winter I have some spots I hope to catch channels but it takes lots of cold and a trek to do it. I like it but it’s in my home town so it’s close. I probably wouldn’t fish it much if I had to drive very far. But it won’t be crowded and it could pay off with big fish if the stars align correctly. Let me know and I’ll try to point you in a good direction. Later J

Same offer to you as well. Oh and if either of you want info on Newton I can pass on what I think I know about there as well. Cutler has potential, but it’s so shallow you rely on roving bands of fish swimming by. When they came through I’d catch two or three fish but then I’d sit for several hours before another pod would come through. It’s hard to find areas that consistently draw fish since there isn’t much variation it’s all similar area. And it’s so shallow you can’t use sonar and too murky to use a camera so you’re fishing blind. It’s more difficult than other spots but sure fun when a 26” carp grabs ahold. I’m not a very good salesman but want you to know the good and bad of the area. Later J
