Where to purchase Isopods
#1
I sure enjoy watching Shifty Outdoors on youtube each year during ice fishing season. If you haven't seen their ice fishing videos you should check them out. They fish Utah waters and the videos are a lot of fun.

But the question I have is does anyone know where I can purchase BillzBaitz Isopods that Shifty outdoors uses in their videos? There is an online store but it will not let you place a payment and I have tried calling the number which is disconnected. Unfortunately I haven't been able to get a hold of shifty through Youtube either.

Here is a link to what I'm looking for but again you can't purchase anything from the site.

Or is there something equivalent that is available somewhere?

BillzBaitz really screwed people over on Facebook last year and he's pretty much disappeared since then. He took a huge group order and then disappeared never to be heard from again and sounds like most people didn't get what they ordered and paid for. Apparently a few people have been in touch with him on Instagram and he's trying to refund money, but it sounds like a bad situation all around.

I agree with you, the Shifty Outdoors videos are fun to watch they do a great job. I, like you, want to find some Isopods. I have tried to googling them, typing in every reference I think I could use to get them to come up with no luck. But...finally with a little persistence I think I found a solution. I found a jig mold that could make any color you wanted and as many as you wanted. with a little upfront investment you could be set. Check it out and let me know what you think.

I know they aren't an exact match but have you looked at Clam Maki Plastics? They are similar. Just a thought.

Sounds like I was lucky to avoid Billz Baitz

Thanks BlueFox2 for the link. Something I'll have to look into later. I've never made my own from a mold before.

And FishNate, those look excellent for Ice Fishing. I already purchased some of the ones from Zero Baits. Now I'll have to order some of those.

I'll try to remember to post here how the Zero Baits ones work out after they arrive.

Thanks!

CAPT, I just picked these up from Zero Baits. They are very local to me (Roy). Great people to work with. The ones I picked up were fresh off the mold. You can PM him on Facebook and he'll answer.

Right now the website shows they are out which I was bummed about, but once I PM'ed him he replied back and said they were making them now.

I'll be out on the ice in a day or three to see how they go. I will certainly post the results.
