Weather is crazy. The wind took ice off Utah lake a few days ago. since then it has been iced over again.....sort of, skim ice, then again. The only thing that has been constant is the numbers of fish being taken.
The fishing has been great when the water is open and when it is iced over the ice is not safe . All you can do if you want to catch a lot of white bass is head to the lake and check it out.
