Night fishing UPDATE

I went to Deer Creek with my boy and fished about an hour into dark. We marked a couple but no takers. From what people said it was slow there today.

I’ve made the trip up to the Berry several times but wouldn’t mind branching out. Other than Pineview does anyone have suggestions for other places? Are rainbows active after dark?

Flaming Gorge has burbot and they are more active at night.

I have never tried it this time of year (too cold),, but I have killed the Rainbow at night with a light hanging over the side of the boat in the summer time when the bite was real tough during the day.

Cool thing about it is they will bite a couple of feet away from you.

Also use an LED light. It lights them up with a blue iridescent glow that you can see from along way off. I can never make it show in a photo though.
