Strawberry 2019-02-01
#1
Hit Strawberry this morning -- out on the lake around 7:30. It was one of those rare Strawberry days with bright blue sky, perfect snow and ice conditions, and no wind. We caught a bunch of cutthroats in the slot throughout the course of the day. The fish were traveling in groups, and we'd go 20-60 minutes between waves, and then we'd see action for a few minutes. Then another wait. The underwater camera confirmed the pattern.

We tried a variety of rigs but by far the most popular was a white tube with nightcrawler. We got bites while actively jigging and while using jawjackers. The fish were biting very lightly, and we usually had to work pretty hard to get them though the ice.

Left around 3:00 p.m. Wish all the days could be that nice.

Beautiful weather and some fish that wanted to play sounds like a good day. Thanks for the report!
