Had to go fishing yesterday.

With temps in the low to high 70"s I got the bug real bad. Put the electroncis in, greased the hubs and hit the water. Everything worked great for the shake down cruise. Water temps in the mid 40's and I forgot my jerk bait. [crazy] slow worked a senko but no bite on bass. switched up for cat fish but again I guess I'mm a few weeks early for anything. I did try out my new fishing buddy who is 12 and he was great to have in the boat. good thing is I don't have to teach him a thing on how to fish. he's learned it by going every day and reading up on it. All in all a great time and will try again in a few weeks.

Too bad the catching part was not happening but nice to hear you were able to get out in the boat again. It will likely be a week or two before that happens here. We get a few days of warmer 40 degree temps, then it's back to the 20's and 30's.
70's that is crazy warm for this time of the year unless you live farther South. Aren't they getting arctic conditions a little North of you?

Yes they are, we dodged the bullet on a lot of the cold. Might get down to 40 over night but you have to take the jacket off by 10 am. Rain has been brutal here this winter. Hope it drys up some come spring, but doubt it. When levels in the river are high bass move into the trees. No way to catch them. Must be why I'm cat fishing that time of year.
