Decided to try the pig today after work with a buddy. Got to the lake about fourish and walked down the dam to check the edges. Provably about five or so feet of water and bad ice between the bank and the good ice. Got to the back by the second boat launch and was able to get on with a board. Ice was about the length of the little metal scoop with the orange head. Half of it was foggy and the other half was clear. No snow on the ice and it was pretty slick without cleats. Fished all over the place and was only able to catch one rainbow back by the inlet.

I was up there in AM and agree the ice edges aren’t very safe. Up by the spring we drug some trees onto the ice but the ice is sketchy for 15 yards out. I drilled a hole and it was only about 5” thick and soggy. Once out on there was 13” of ice but not a lot of solid ice under the white ice on top. I only got one 18” brown and that was probably my last trip there on the ice. Been fun but it looks like it’s about done. Later J
